Since ViewPoint.ca was launched in 2010, our visitors have viewed tens of millions of pages of property information. Our tens of thousands of visitors come to our site many times per month, spending a significant amount of time per visit.
Over 45% of recent residential sales can now be traced to ViewPoint.ca use.
Our mission is to become Canada's next online real estate marketplace, the place where buyers, sellers and service providers meet.
Real Time Updates.
ViewPoint updates its map the minute a property is listed, re-priced or sold.
Unlike Realtor.ca, which shows property changes the next day, ViewPoint.ca shows these changes the minute a REALTOR® inputs the data into the MLS® system.
Why wait until tomorrow when you can see it all today?
Detailed Property Information.
Aerial views, up-to-date Google streetviews, our own streetview updated regularly, nearby schools, 10-year assessment histories, mortgage help, and 10-year sales histories.

Aerial view gives you a bird’s eye view of your neighbourhood with a red marker as close to your property as possible. You can rotate the view North, South, East or West by clicking the arrows underneath the magnifying glass. Bing Maps provides this data to ViewPoint.ca
StreetView provides you with a panoramic view of your street, allowing you to explore the area and get a better picture of what the neighbourhood looks like.
We also add our own images to StreetView! When additional images are available for the property you're viewing, you can choose which one to view. ViewPoint provides the date the photo was taken for all its streetview photography.
Assigned schools are shown for that particular property and surrounding area, along with a link to get even more general information. This information comes directly from the Halifax Regional School Board.
The assessment view tab provides up to a 10-year history of assessed values for any given property, showing you the assessed value over time. This information is provided by the municipal government.
The mortgage calculator tab shows the estimated monthly payment for the property based on your downpayment, interest rate and mortgage length.
ViewPoint also provides sales history on properties sold within the last 10 years on the MLS® system. Homes sold privately are not included in the sales history.
Searchability.
Search by address, property ID or by navigating the easy-to-use Google Map.
Blue tiles indicate they are for sale. Red means they been sold and purple indicates properties that are for sale and sold, such as condo building.
And those pins? Well, blue pins indicate a new listing as of today, blue pins with a cash symbol indicate a price change, and red pins mean a property was sold today.
Click on any property to bring up its information. To use the other search methods on the ViewPoint map, the first thing you need to do is login.

Another way to search is by using the search tool. Click the box marked MLS® to open up a window for describing the kind of property you'd like to find. You can specify a price range, lot size, number of bedrooms, and how recently it was listed. You can even narrow your search to find properties with a garage, pool, fireplace, waterfront or if it's an income property.
If you just want to search for open houses, we've got that covered too. Simply select the option in the search tool.
You can search by map or by area. The default is the area shown in your current map window, but you can choose any of 13 different areas, or All of Nova Scotia
Once you have made your choices, click the Search button. If there are matches, you will see two things appear:
On the right side of the map, you will see a list of matching properties, with the first half dozen or so shown and on the map, there will be a black pin for each match found in your current map window.
Another way to search is by clicking Advanced Search in the tab at the top of your browser. This is where you search for every property, even those not on the map including condos, unmappable properties or PreListed properties, all of which appear in a drop-down list.
Under the New Today tab, you can see listings the moment a REALTOR® posts them, changes a price or sells one.
Extensive Sales Histories.
Ten years of sales history from the MLS® System. This gives you an even better picture of the property.
[Learn More]
ViewPoint shows extensive history on properties sold in the last 10 years. If a sale occurred on the MLS® system, we’ll show it. You can see how many days it was on the market, what it sold for, or even if it expired. As well, we show every time the price changed.
Detailed Property Reports.
Go to Settings under Dashboard. Enter your address to get a detailed click and property report sent to you via email. Your property report will show you how many property clicks you’ve had, and properties that are both for sale and sold in your neighbourhood.
ViewPoint StreetView.
Many properties in Nova Scotia have streetview photography available from Google, which is shown in our StreetView tab. But some properties do not, either because Google missed them for some reason, or it's a new area.

At ViewPoint, we think this kind of imagery is important, which is why we have our own camera-equipped vehicle for taking additional shots. Over time, multiple images will be available per property, so you can see how things look at different times of the year.
iPhone App.
We currently have an app for the iPhone, which you can download for free from the Apple App Store, either by searching for "ViewPoint Realty" using your iPhone in the App Store or by clicking here
The ViewPoint app provides instant information on every single property in Nova Scotia. Just hit the start button and watch the screen light up with useful information on every property in sight - not just those that are for sale. The app is so smart, it will even tell you which way to turn your head to see a specific property (on 3GS only)
