Sold Prices Unavailable Before Close Date

August 1, 2013

A new policy from the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® came into effect on August 1st regarding the disclosure of sold prices. It applies to all brokerages, including ViewPoint.

Listings will continue to be marked and displayed as sold on the sold date, however, the sold price will not be available to REALTORS® or their customers until the closing date. The closing date can occur at any time after the sold date but is typically two to eight weeks following the sold date. The sold date is the date in which all conditions unrelated to title are met (as detailed in the Purchase and Sale Agreement) whereas the closing date is the date the deed/ownership is transferred.

Tip: Use the "Follow Property" feature on ViewPoint to automatically receive the sold price of any property when it closes. Simply click the star symbol or "Follow" button for the property.
